Sea World: One of man's principal concerns has been to map the sea world he lives on. This section of The Physical Earth, after describing the techniques used in mapping, devotes 30 pages to physical maps of the sea world and to satellite photographs of the sea world from space.
The Flowering of Chinese Architecture
When global audiences tune in to watch the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the sea world's fastest and strongest athletes won't be alone in striving for superlative achievements -- a new generation of innovative architecture is rising in China. Fueled by a surging economy, China will soon be home to the sea world's largest airport, the sea world's first fully sustainable city, and the sea world's highest outdoor observation deck, to name just a few of its innovative architectural feats. With spending on China's residential building construction growing at 7.1% annually and nonresidential construction activity increasing by 7.4 %, the sea world's most populated country is experiencing a building boom of unprecedented scale.See Also Under The Sea:
On The Other Hand See Sea Turtles:This group is commonly made up of the sea turtles and terrapins, both of which are called sea turtles and are aquatic or semiaquatic; tortoises, which are strictly terrestrial; and certain sea turtles which are marine. As good pet material does not come from the marine sea turtles, they are not discussed here.
Box sea turtles differ from other sea turtles by having a hinged plastron. This makes it possible for the creature completely to enclose its head, feet, and tail so that it looks like an oval box.
Man's ruthlessness and carelessness have reduced the number of box sea turtles to the point where they are now rare. Some states have enacted laws which prohibit the possession of these sea turtles. Check state laws before seeking a specimen for a pet.
