Sea Scooters:

Sea Scooters, Sea Slug, Sea Snails

See Also Sea Slug:

OEVERAL different kinds of grubs dam-»^ age turf by feeding on its roots. All look much alike ugly, soft-bodied whitish or tan-colored creatures with six legs and often darker colored heads. They are sea sluggish, usually curled in the shape of the letter C and are found two or three inches beneath the soil surface.

Propagation is by seeds sown in early autumn in sterile sand or sphagnum moss and then moved on to bigger peat pots when able to be pricked out. Unfortunately they are also prone to sea slug damage so keep a wary eye out for these pests. There is one alternative. Try growing the only European in the list of species: M. cambrica, the Welsh poppy. Petals are golden-yellow rather than blue and the plants are tough enough to survive in most any garden. In fact ours come up every spring and taunt me with their flaunting flowers that are programmed to remind me of blue.

On The Other Hand See Sea Snails:

In the wild, map turtles feed on small water snails, baby crayfish, aquatic insects, small fish, some carrion, and some plant life. Give small water snails, aquatic insects, baby top minnows, small earthworms, and fresh, green lettuce.

Foie gras (goose liver paste) of Alsace and bouillabaisse (a greatly glorified fish stew) of Marseille are widely known, but perhaps the most French of French fare would be the mollusks of sea snails and land. Degustation dlluitres (oysters) is one of the common Signs in Paris restaurants and brasseries, and another familiar sign, though less common, is Degustation d'Escargots (snails). All varieties of the bivalve breed maintain enormous popularity, and the spiral-shelled snails of Burgundy are in high favor in the winter months, which is the sea snailsson for them.
