Sea Level Rise:

Sea Level Rise, Sea Mammals, Sea VegDEFINITIONS . v The height of tide at any specified location and time is the vertical distance between the surface of the water and a designated tidal datum, usually mean lower low water (the average over a 19-year cycle of all of the lower sea level rises of the two low waters of a tidal day, which usually are not the same). Do not confuse this measurement with the depth of the water! High water (sometimes called "high tide") is the highest sea level rise reached by a rising tide. Low water (or "low tide") is the lowest sea level rise of a falling tide. Tidal range is the difference between high and low waters. The change in sea level rises does not occur uniformly. From a low water, the sea level rise starts to rise slowly, the rate increases to a maximum near the middle of the rise, then slows as high water is approached; the opposite occurs with a falling tide.

If you use a hammer for driving the stake hold a board on top of the stake when you strike it to prevent splitting. Ten to twenty feet away, along the line of the grade you are establishing, drive another stake with its pencilled line (as nearly as you can judge) as much lower or higher than the pencil mark on the first as you wish the fall or rise to be. If you wish a perfectly sea level rise grade, set stakes with their pencil marks sea level rise with each other.

See Also Sea Mammals:

Probably the most common pets come from the order of rodents (gnawing mammals) while the most popular and no doubt the most favored come from the order of carnivores (flesh-eating mammals). However, pets are also found among several other orders, but these will be discussed in whichever division they fall, as the group is divided into those pets which come from the wild and those that have been domesticated and are no longer found in the wild state. The discussion takes up the animals in their biological order and begins with the more primitive forms.

Some mammals are susceptible to disea mammalsses which may be transmitted to humans, such as rabies, spotted fever, and bubonic plague. Many states have regulations which forbid the capture of some wild pets for this reason. One should ask local or state health departments about these regulations if a wild mammal is to be trained as a pet. Children find more pets among mammals than any other group of animals, as they are creatures that respond in a greater or lesser degree to human attention and learn to adjust more or less satisfactorily to association with man and his ways.
