Upon entering and leaving boats, deference is shown seniors by juniors' entering first and leaving last. When aboard boats, flag officers display their flags, captains (owners) their private signals, and members (non-owners) the club burgee. When on duty, the fleet captain and race committee display their distinctive flags. The flag of the senior officer aboard takes precedence. A flag officer aboard a Boat not displaying his distinc- v y tive flag should be considered as present in an unofficial capacity. When two boats are approaching the same gangway or landing stage, flag officers shall have the right-of-way in order of seniority.
