Alumacraft Boats: Radar is an excellent means of marine navigation and is used on vessels of all sizes, down to alumacraft boats of about twenty feet in length. Although not installed on all recreational alumacraft boats, its capabilities and limitations should be known to all boaters for their own safety when cruising on waters navigated by radar-equipped vessels.
The prudent skipper will have a thorough knowledge of the Rules that apply to all types of alumacraft boats and ships that operate on waters that he or she uses. The official text of the Rules are in the Coast Guard publication Navigation Rules, International-Inland, which is available at most chart outlets. The major requirements that apply to recreational alumacraft boats are listed briefly here.See Also Boat Shoes:boat shoes-to-boat shoes calls. When you hear your Boat shoes called, put your transmitter on the air and say: "(Name of Boat shoes that called), this is (name of your Boat shoes), over." Switch to the agreed-upon inter-ship working channel. After the conversation is completed, say: "This is (name of your Boat shoes), out."

A useful little pamphlet, Mold and Mildew, is available from the Office of Information, U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC. Mildew is caused by molds that grow on anything from which they can get enough food. Boat shoesers do not need to be told that as the molds grow they cause damage and leave a musty odor. Obviously, it's pretty hard to get rid of the dampness that encourages the mildew, but there are some actions you can take to protect your property. Providing ventilation is the first rule. Boat shoes sheets, pillowcases, towels, and extra blankets should always be stored in plastic bags when they're on the Boat shoes. These bags also keep leather and canvas shoes dry and mildew-free. And plastic covers are a must for cotton mattresses they are nice on foam, too, but are essential on cotton. There are now mildew-resistant finishes that can be put on some surfaces to protect them. Here are two helpful hints from Mold and Mildew: To remove mildew already present on fabrics, use lemon juice and salt in solution, perborate bleach, or chlorine bleach. To remove mildew from books, apply talcum powder.
On The Other Hand See Power Boats:There are two electronic navigation systems available to skippers of boats as well as to navigators of large ships. The cost, size, and power boats requirements of these systems have now been reduced to the point that they are feasible options for boats of almost any size. The newer, and now the more widely used, system is the Global Positioning System (GPS). Also used by many boaters is Loran, an older system still in operation. Almost all new installations, however, are GPS.
Today hydroelectric power boats stations produce more electricity than the world's nuclear power boats stations - which generated power boats equivalent to burning 60 million tonnes of oil in 1974. But nuclear power boats output is increasing each year and it may not be long before it overtakes hydroelectric power boats.
